ONE LAST CHRISTMAS

She wandered through empty rooms, smiling sadly at the lifetime of memories swirling around.

The house was too big for her alone. Next year it would be sold.

The decorations lit up the living room. Tomorrow would be filled with laughter and joy.

One last family gathering in their home.

  4. It is so tough to paint a picture in only 50 words. But Iain, you just did it. That house came alive in my mind. And sadly, it came across as the last time it will come alive for her. Great story, nicely done.

  5. Short and sweet. Perhaps, I thought, if she was a ghost this would provide an extra dimension.
