THE A TO Z CHALLENGE – HALFWAY SUMMARY

Halfway through the month and halfway through the A to Z Challenge 2017.

I would like to thank all those who are following my continuing story, featuring Detective Anders Sand, especially all those kind enough to like and comment on the posts. The fact I have a loyal band of people reading along makes it rewarding to keep writing. I hope you all enjoy the second half of the alphabet.

If you want to catch up on the story so far, all the previous entries can be found here:Β A TO Z CHALLENGE 2017

I thought I would list a few of the other blogs I am enjoying following on this challenge. This is by no means an exhaustive list, and as I’m writing fiction, I am mainly highlighting others that are doing the same. For a more complete list of bloggers, including non-fiction and poetry, visit the main A to Z Challenge page. Loads and loads of great content. Apologies to anyone I haven’t mentioned.

JOHN DAVIS FRAINΒ is responsible for introducing me to the challenge, and is spending the month murdering himself in entertaining ways every day.

KEITH’S RAMBLINGS has taken us on a humourous and entertaining trip around the sights and residents of Amble Bay.

Raven Avery is giving us a short story everyday over atΒ EVERYWHERE AND NOWHERE.

Shweta Suresh has a series of Tiny Tales at her blogΒ MY RANDOM RAMBLINGS.

Sascha Darlington is writing stories and poetry at her blogΒ MICROCOSM EXPLORED.

An ongoing story fromΒ SIMPLY MARQUESSA.

A series of 100-word stories fromΒ LADIES WHO LUNCH REVIEWS.

A different short story each day fromΒ UNUSUAL STRANGENESS.

A bit of Haiku everyday from Maggie over atΒ WHAT RHYMES WITH STANZA.

Another series of great short stories over atΒ JO HAWK’S BLOG.

Hilarious mother and daughter conversations withΒ DIARY OF A DUBLIN HOUSEWIFE.

VANESSENCEΒ is teasing us with one word a day for the month.

Addison Albright is teasing excerpts from his novel atΒ AUTHOR ADDISON ALBRIGHT.

JOE OWENS is introducing us to characters for the novel he plans to write later this year.

Annie is using senses as her theme each day atΒ ANNIE SCRIBES.

A couple of non-fiction ones I’m enjoying too, among many others:

If it’s a bit of a sweet tooth you have, NJ is rounding up a series of tasty desserts at her blogΒ NJ SAYS.

JazzFeathers over at THE OLD SHELTERΒ is doing a great guide to classic Film Noir.

Some amusing real life anecdotes from Geoff over at TANGENTAL.

Finally, there’s a great guide to different components of literature from Eva atΒ HER BLOG.

Good luck to everyone for the second half of the month!

  1. Not that I wouldn’t want to read all those stories, but there are only so many hours in a day. :O

    1. That’s part of what makes it a challenge, finding time to read them all! Unlike mine others are doing separate short stories and flash fiction that can be dipped in and out of and don’t need to be read everyday.

  2. Great idea to do a halfway summary. Thanks for sharing other blogs you’re following, but how do you have time to read all the posts? I’ve read some of your story, but I’m seriously having trouble keeping up with my own posts and reading other posts too!

  4. Thanks for the mention. I’ll be checking out some of the other fiction writers. It’s a (kinda sorta) goal of mine to learn to write short fiction. Your story is giving me inspiration!

  9. First of all, thank you so much for the mention. I’m surprised because most (actually all) of my friends are on the verge of wanting to kill me because I write and talk about desserts and they don’t get to eat any of them 😁 Secondly, there’s no way I’m giving up on Detective Sanders now. Or Gabi for that matter. I said it before and I will say it again, if it was a book I would have finished it in one go. But unfortunately I have to wait 😁 All your readers are desperately awaiting for an update on her.
