HOW TO TOW A CARAVAN

The first alarm began at five, just as duskย was beginning. Soon every car on the street joined in the deafening noise.

Front doors and windows opened as residents looked out. Car owners appeared with key fobs to silence the alarms.

Soon they were standing in groups and pairs gesticulating and pointing. Every car had lost a wing mirror, some had been dented.

At the end of the street, Agnes guided Archie as he reversed the caravan into their driveway.

Archie parked it with precision, applied the handbrake and smiled. Home in one piece after another successful summer holiday.

  1. I love this! Just what one needs halfway through the week: light and fun reading. Well, not fun for those people who lost their wing mirror, but hey, Archie’s happy! ๐Ÿ˜

  3. Archie’s aim is either spot on or needs some work, depending on his intent. I still pan to finish the Sand A to Z series. I just have to carve out the time.

  5. LOL but not really! Our street is so narrow that we have to park with one side of the car up on the sidewalk and ALWAYS turn our side mirrors in. Cute story.

    1. Thanks Janet, your street sounds like the ideal place for them to keep their caravan! ๐Ÿ™‚

  31. LOL, this is exceedingly funny, Iain. I think that Archie is every insurance company’s nightmare! Can you imagine how astronomical his premium would be after that run of claims against him? Probably better for him to pay for all the wing mirrors out of his pocket, from money raised by selling that darned caravan.
