SYMBIONT

The final clue had led her here, to the building decorated with rhombi in shades of green.

She didn’t know where the clues came from, they just appeared in her head. Someone, or something, was planting them there. All she had to do was follow.

What were they trying to tell her? She didn’t know, only that it felt like her destiny.

On the wall an emergency exit sign, the little green man, was that their joke? Telling her to leave, to get out? But go where? She prayed for an answer.

FBI Agent Buller stared at the grainy closed circuit footage of the woman. How had she found the secure facility? She must not see what was hidden inside the building.

He watched the tactical unit close in on her as she stood with her eyes closed, her hands clasped together. Interference covered the screen. When the picture returned the woman was gone. The soldiers were on the ground, writhing in pain from the alien toxin.

Buller turned and walked away. It had begun.

  8. This sounds like the start of a great novel. You can’t leave it in suspense. It has begun – how will it end. Really suspenseful.
