A TO Z CHALLENGE 2018 – HALFWAY SUMMARY

Already we’re at the halfway intermission in this year’s A to Z Challenge. Thank you so much to everyone who has been reading, commenting and liking my stories so far, as we take a trip round all 28 countries of the European Union, it is really appreciated. Still some big countries to visit – like Italy, France and Spain – but you can catch up on all of the stories so far here: A TO Z CHALLENGE 2018.

As always there are a wide variety of themes out there and some fantastic blogs that I have been enjoying. As I am writing Short Story Fiction, I am focusing more on those blogs, and here are some of the ones I have been enjoying for the last couple of weeks. Apologies to anyone I don’t mention here, please don’t read anything into it, there are just too many to mention everyone. Do take the time to check some of these out:

KEITH’S RAMBLINGS

Keith is introducing us to his good friend Rosey with highly amusing anecdotes each day.

L. E. R. T.

An entertaining selection of Short Stories with a Twist at the end – which usually you can’t see coming.

J R VINCENTE

For adults only, Jayden is writing different romantic scenarios and encounters each day and asking for you to vote which ones you would like to see continued.

THE LAV MUSE

A continuing story of a quest through time and space involving dragons, Thor and a little old woman. Great adventure fun.

BEYOND THE FLOW

An inspired theme from Rowena introducing us to a deceased artist each day and imagining letter correspondence if they were still alive today. Educational and entertaining.

THE DREAMGIRL WRITES

A continuing story set at sea, with plenty of adventure, treasure, romance and mystery!

JAI’S WRITING RETREAT

Another continuing story, this time a mysterious tale as Mat struggles to find out what has happened to his daughter Karen.

KAT SEAHOLM – DREAMER, AUTHOR, GATEKEEPER

A non-fiction one, a great guide to the different parts of writing we all enjoy.

THE NEXT CHAPTER

Marquessa is spinning a tale of an ongoing tale of a relationship gone seriously wrong.

POETRY AND LAW AND SOMETHING MORE

Each day Johanna is serving up a short story or poem sometimes based around law, and sometimes something more!

CANVAS WITH RAINBOW

Anagha is presenting an amusing look at typical family life with Mr. Balanced and Mrs. Chitterchatter and their children.

JAGAHDILMEIN

An entertaining short story each day.

FICTION CAN BE FUN

A continuing thriller set just after the end of World War II – my kind of cryptic spy story.

D.B. MCNICOL

A short story each day combining two words picked at random.

I RHYME WITHOUT REASON

Leo is skilfully writing a story each day in only seven sentences.

AKS WRITES

Akshata is ambitiously taking us through a whole life from arrival to z…. from the point of view of a girl growing up in the world.

PRIYREFELCTS

Priya over at ‘My Serendipitous Wanderings is writing a short story for each day.

LADIES WHO LUNCH REVIEWS

A series of hilarious anecdotes from Gran and Grandson, who has a very smart way with words!

ANNIE SCRIBES

Annie is creating a short piece of fiction each day that matches to the meaning of a musical word.

These are just a few of the blogs I have been enjoying. You can find more by going to the main page for the challenge – A TO Z CHALLENGE – and searching the Master List, where you can find everything from parenting tips to cooking, travel guides (which all make me very envious) to movie reviews, history, music, cats and dogs (of course) and loads more. Here’s to the 2nd half!
