The SUVs with blacked out windows swept through the quiet suburb, lights flashing.
They descended on the school, swooping in to block access roads and prevent anyone leaving.
From each vehicle emerged two agents in black suits.
In unison they approached the main entrance. A visibly shocked and bemused Miss Carthwright pointed in the direction of the classrooms.
The black-clad officials paused, poised to strike on the ‘go’ signal from the team leader.
Classroom doors burst open simultaneously. Most were met with dumb silence as commands were shouted.
The worst offenders were in the kindergarten year, the five year-olds, where the over-enthusiastic parents led them astray.
Agent Bradshaw pointed at the pumpkin painted as a Minion. ‘Who’s is this?’
Karen got up from the carpet in the reading corner where the class had been having story time.
Agent Bradshaw read Karen her rights. ‘Under Title 17 of the United States Code you are under arrest for copyright infringement with the aim to seek reward, in this case,’ he referred to his notes, ‘a Halloween treat bag worth ten dollars. Take her away.’
A tearful Karen was escorted out the room.
‘Okay,’ Agent Bradshaw looked at the class, ‘Who’s is the Ninja Turtle pumpkin?’
