A JUSTIFIED STATE – BOOK LAUNCH

TAGLINE

My first novel – ‘A Justified State’ – is now available to buy!

‘A Justified State’ is a thriller set in an imagined city of the future.Β The State is ruled by the socially reformist Central Party Alliance. Poverty and homelessness have been eradicated, but overpopulation, an energy crisis and an ongoing overseas war are threatening the stability of the country.

When a local politician is assassinated, Detective Danny Samson finds himself thrust into the middle of the investigation. Still grieving for his dead wife and children, Danny tracks down the assassin, an ex-military sniper called Gabriella, only to discover she may not be the real villain.

The secret behind the murder of one politician may bring down the entire ruling Party, and Danny soon learns those in power will go to any lengths to protect The State. Joining forces with Gabriella and the mysterious government agent Phillips, Danny must unearth the truth and bring the guilty to justice, before they catch up with him first.

  8. Reblogged this on Word Shamble and commented:
Today is the official launch of Iain Kelly’s thriller, A Justified State. As a fellow Friday Fictioneer, I can happily enthuse about the quality of Iain’s writing – I believe I was the first to buy a paper back copy of the book, that’s how eager I was to read it! Do pop along to Amazon and order your own and jump over to Iain’s blog to learn more.

      1. You’re welcome. Mine is due for release December. I have some questions about that if you don’t mind. I’m doing on kindle but does that mean you don’t get the chance of hard copies? I note you have both formats, how did you do that?

      2. I did it through Amazon kdp (Kindle Direct Publishing), that allows you to create a paperback and a kindle version and is fairly straightforward (a few fiddly formatting things mainly for the paperback version). Free to sign up to use. Let me know if I can help more, look forward to seeing it in December!

      3. Do you need to get an ISBN number?

      4. Kdp provides you with one for free as part of the setup of your book version.

  11. Wow, that is so exciting! I’m so happy for you! And man, that is a great synopsis you came up with — I can definitely get the feel of the book, and the sense of tension and danger the characters face. I’m not even a fan of thrillers and it sounds interesting to me. Good luck with your launch, I hope it goes really well.

    1. Thank you Joy – I’m glad you like the synopsis – I found that as hard to write as the novel itself! Would be great if you find the time to have a read – might be good to get an opinion from a non-thriller fan!

  16. I just finished the book! Had to get on here to tell you that I believe you did a superb job with it! It held me in suspense which kept me turning the page as the suspense kept building. You also left your mark of humor in it which helped balance out the serious tone of it.
There were times as I read that I thought to myself, if he has that person die…..!! Glad to see that you listened to me! πŸ™‚
Though at the end….well I won’t give it away to other readers, but….you know what I mean.
Again well done! I wish you much success!

    1. Thank you so much Joy, wonderful to get such positive feedback. I have recently been giving some thought about what to write next and think I might have the idea for a sequel, so it may not be the last you hear about these characters. It would be great if you could put a little review of the book onto Amazon, nothing big, just a little of what you have written here. It really helps to convince others to have a read, especially when you’re an unknown author. Thank you for taking the time to give it a read and for all your continued support, it really is much appreciated πŸ’™ πŸ™‚

      1. You are very welcome and Amazon was my next stop! πŸ™‚ I would be glad too!
A sequel would be a great idea! I already had an idea for a romance developing between 2 characters if you need any suggestions. LOL!

I also was going to add that my only wish is that I could have read it and not had some chilling thoughts about how your story may be fiction, but….

      2. I’m sort of glad you felt that way as I really wanted to do a futuristic novel that had some grounding in the real world – so it seems I managed to convince at least one reader that it could all come true!! I’ll let you know if I need some inspiration, hoping to start writing in the new year πŸ™‚

      3. Yes you did and I would strongly guess that I won’t be the only one!
Yes, relax for the rest of the year, you earned it. Relax before you get started on giving Gabriella a little romance. πŸ™‚
