SOLUS

The vista looks grim this morning.

A grey, brooding doldrum.

Without you, there is no sun-kissed upland.

No blissful smile.

I turn away.

The chore of life weighs heavy.

Written for the Weekend Writing Prompt, hosted by SammiScribbles. This week’s prompt was: Vista. Click on the link to read more stories by other writers.

For those who haven’t yet read my trilogy of novels, The State Trilogy is now available on Amazon in one collected volume on Kindle and in paperback. Three books in one (with a modest saving compared to buying them all individually!).

  10. Iain,

Oh dear, how sad! *sniff-sniff* I’m so blessed to have the love of my life with me daily. I hope I never know this feeling, My good friend Eugenia from Eugie’s Causerie dabbles in poetry and has a lovely community of writers with the same interest. Nicely done on the challenge. Thanks for sharing. Have a funtastic week!
