‘Looks more like a wedding cake about to fall over than a pizza.’
‘A pizza?’
‘The Leaning Tower of Pizza.’
‘No, it’s Pisa.’
‘That’s what I said, Pizza. Anyway, don’t worry about the photo, I can straighten that up in Photoshop.’
‘No, it’s meant to lean over like that.’
‘That’s ridiculous, who built that?’
‘It wasn’t built to do that, but now it’s famous because it does do that.’
‘Why don’t they fix it?’
‘Then it wouldn’t be the Leaning Tower of Pisa.’
‘Pizza?’
‘I told you, it’s Pisa.’
‘No, I mean do you fancy some pizza for lunch. There’s a little café over the piazza there, looks lovely.’
Today’s photo brought back fond memories of a day in Pisa 13 years ago, and a pizza in the shadow of the Leaning Tower.
Written for Friday Fictioneers hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields (more details HERE). The idea is to write a short story of 100 words based on the photo prompt (above).
