They had all left her. Left her traditional values.

They told her to embrace modern life. She didn’t want to.

When Cassandra told her about her girlfriend, she’d tried to accept it.

When Cassandra told her they were expecting a child, she smiled through gritted teeth.

When Cassandra chose an abortion after the foetal anomaly had been found, she told them it was punishment for their choices.

She knew they would come back to her. Life moved in circles.
