SPINSTER

There was no thread left, but she kept the wheel spinning.

They had all left her. Left her traditional values.

They told her to embrace modern life. She didn’t want to.

When Cassandra told her about her girlfriend, she’d tried to accept it.

When Cassandra told her they were expecting a child, she smiled through gritted teeth.

When Cassandra chose an abortion after the foetal anomaly had been found, she told them it was punishment for their choices.

She knew they would come back to her. Life moved in circles.

There was no thread left, but she kept the wheel spinning.

  10. Circles? Or spirals? Time will tick, time will tell, we’ll hope mercy and forgiveness proves her right in her end times.
    So sad.

  26. Oh
This is an interesting one. I’m fascinated about the lovely Cassandra. And the old woman… circles indeed. I hope the old woman can learn and change. Not everyone wants the past to return. Great think piece this one.
