Last weekend, I headed up to the Moray coast and the town of Nairn, for an appearance at the Nairn Books & Arts Festival.

Appearing as part of the ‘Wine & Crime’ event in the local community centre I chatted with fellow crime author Douglas Skelton about FULL SUN, before I chaired the following session with the lovely Natalie Jayne Clark, discussing her entertaining debut novel THE MALT WHISKY MURDERS. Then I got to sit back and relax as Natalie and Douglas discussed his latest novel, THE OTHER SIDE OF FEAR. A fabulous afternoon, with an engaged and knowledgeable audience asking questions – and taking the opportunity to buy a few signed copies of the books too.
As my first experience of appearing as part of a festival, I couldn’t have asked for more.

I also had the time – and some gorgeous sunny weather – to explore the town and the beautiful sandy beaches and harbour, and popped into the Nairn Bookshop – run by Samantha and Stephen, who put my name forward to appear at the festival. While browsing in the shop, I heard a customer asking if they had any signed copies of FULL SUN left over from the event – I was happy (and slightly embarrassed!) to introduce myself and sign the book for her there and then.

Overall, a wonderful experience at a wonderful festival in a wonderful part of the country!
