‘With this jewel I can rule the world. No one can stop me .’
‘You’ll never get away with this, Luthor.’ Superman replied.
‘Who’s going to stop me? You, Superman? You’re weaker than a human so long as I have this stone.’ Lex Luthor gave an evil laugh.
As he did so a dark shape loomed over them.
‘Where did you get that from? Is that your Mum’s necklace?’
‘No, Dad, it’s Kryptonite,’ Lex (Alexandria) whined.
‘Don’t worry, Dad, I’ll find a way to get it off her…I mean Luthor…and stop his evil plan,’ reassured Superman (Henry).
‘I’m sure you will, but this stone really does have magical powers,’ their Dad warned.
They stared in wonder at the green necklace.
‘What do you mean?’
‘If your mother finds you playing with it, she’ll turn into a monster and destroy you both. Give it here.’
Superman stood next to Luthor.
‘Luthor, we must unite against this threat to our world.’
‘I stand with you, Superman.’
Their Dad looked at them. ‘It’s like that is it?’
The Battle for the Future of Mankind played out to squeals of tickling and laughter.

Oh, yes I can see why you’d think Superman – reminds me of the first Christopher Reeve film with all the huge crystals. Great story, Iain – very sweet and touching

Thanks Lynn – it was all I could really see from the prompt, and I couldn’t bring myself to write an actual Superman story! Will be interested to see what others make of the prompt 🙂

It had a lot of charm, Iain. Possibly more than an out and out Superman spin. Really good

That was my first thought too when I saw this photo – that it was kryptonite. Nicely told.

Cute story! My first thought was fan fiction but then I realized the kids were playing dress-up. I like it though, kids play like that it and its a lot of fun for them and even Dad. Let’s hope nothing happens to Mom’s necklace 🙂

Thanks Mandi, never been one to do fan fiction even though I do love Superman. This is my version of fan fiction! 🙂

A lovely story of some interaction between the dad and his children. Children love play-acting and when parents participate, it becomes very special to them and will always be remembered .

Awww that ending is perfection. At first, I was excited because I thought you were writing a Superman fanfiction! But as the story progressed, I realized it was even better than fanfiction ❤ Well done Iain! You never disappoint.
