‘She’s back.’
The word went out. Of course, she’d never really been away. She had always been there, in our hearts and in our minds and in everything we thought and did.
The last few years had been tough. Many had suffered. We clung on to the hope that she would one day return to guide us out of these dark times.
Now she stood looking down on us, silhouetted against the dusk, Lady Liberty, unbowed and impassive, her guiding light raised aloft.
She had survived, and she was ready to pick up the torch once more, a beacon in our darkest hour.
Delighted to have #writephoto back, hosted by Sue Vincent on her blog Daily Echo. This week’s prompt word, to go with the image, was Returning.

We could all do with that particular Lady coming back and making her presence felt, Iain 😉

How perfect for the times we are facing. I could “see” it. I’ve been out of the blogging world for about 2 years now…and I just returned a couple of days ago. I recall visiting your site often. I enjoy your writing style. 🙂
