Books That Inspired My Writing Journey

As part of the FULL SUN blog tour running this week, I’ve written a guest post for RANDOM THINGS THROUGH MY LETTERBOX blog site, giving a little insight into some of the books that have shaped my reading and writing over the years.

You can read the article here: https://randomthingsthroughmyletterbox.blogspot.com/2025/03/full-sun-by-iain-kelly-blog-tour.html

Narrowing the choice down to just 10 books was pretty tricky, I could have done with another 10 or 20 choices to give a full picture of the books that have meant a lot to me over the years. I hope you enjoy reading the article.

  2. Small Gods by Terry Pratchett is a good one. I haven’t read any of the others in your list, except Hemingway, of course! And I have read some of Agatha Christie, but not that particular one. Not enough time in the day for all the great books out there.

    1. Wouldn’t it be nice to not have to work, then I would have a lot more time to read, and write!

  3. I have been wanting to add The Count of Monte Cristo to my list of classics. I will have to make a point of reading it. I want to read the Hunhback of Notre Dame too. Have you read that one?

    1. I have read that one, also very good. They are long, but worth the effort!

      1. Good to know. As long as they keep my interest I don’t mind long books. πŸ™‚

  4. Other books sometimes influence us more than we realize. Excellent point.
