He awoke as the earth started moving. He was rising, bumping his way up to heaven. He thought it would have been a gentler journey. Instead his head thudded with the sound of heavy machinery and he was tossed around the beat-up car he had fallen asleep in.
With a bang, everything stopped. The car hung swaying in the air.
‘You homeless bums are going to get me a manslaughter charge one of these days. Get the hell out of there!’
He scrambled out the broken door and fell six foot to the ground. He got up and ran.
He had nowhere to run to, he had no family to return to.
