I was never a strong swimmer, unlike him, and he was stronger.
That’s why drowning him never appealed. Plus, I’d get my hair wet and my make-up would run.
But he did love the water, always at the pool, showing off his toned body and admiring the girls.
So it seems only right that I leave him there, floating face down, naked, blood seeping from the slit in his throat.
They’ll blame FiFi of course, a lover’s tiff. But that’s okay, I’ll be there to support her through it.
After all, that’s what best friends are for.

Written as part of the Friday Fictioneers challenge hosted by Rochelle Wisoff-Fields (more details HERE). The idea is to write a short story of 100 words based on the photo prompt (above).

Makes one wonder if he was stronger, how your MC managed to slit his throat and get him into the pool… since she didn’t want to get her hair wet 😉 Of course, she could have already been in the pool and it was just a question of getting close enough to him…

She may have used some seductive charms, he was very easily led… 😉

Fifi, Iain, really?
That made me laugh aloud, archetypal dumb blonde!

Stereotypes do help when you’ve only 100 words to play with 😉

It was wonderfully done!

Fifi, Bambi, Muffy, Fluffy or Buffy, you’ve made it plain that the guy was a player and his taste in women was dumb and sexy. Maybe he deserved to die, but I’m not sure Fifi deserves the consolation of his best “friend.”

Devious plan, although I don’t know if he’s thought it out too well. He might have to visit FiFi in prison after it’s all said and done. Nice piece.

Excellent story, Kelly.

Jealousy and unrequited love. Add to it the UberMe generation, and you got naked dead bodies in the pool.
Bodies in the Pool. Interesting name for a band

He sounds like a jerk… but maybe slicing his throat was a going a little bit too far.
Snipping his “appendix” might have been better….

While I realize that water, in western culture, always has so represented the forces of evil (goes back to the days of the ancient Jews) , you all seem to find such nefarious misconduct in this prompt. Such an appropriate murder it was..roasting him upon his own pitard

Seeing the blood count this week, I think it’s better to fill a pool with soil and having a garden bed instead.

I liked the tempo best of all and I could picture the scene. The murderer’s name doesn’t bother me anywhere near what it did to the rest of your readers. But it does spur me to defend people who are judged by their names. Perhaps a story in less than 100 words…
